Willow, the English Literary Society of Hansraj College’s annual literary journal, is a collection of voices, memories, and emotions brought together through literature and art. The fourth issue of Willow, titled “Anamnesis: On Remembering,” is centred around nostalgia — the quiet, lingering feeling of revisiting moments that time has carried away, yet never truly erased.
This edition explores the many ways memory lives within us: in old photographs, forgotten conversations, familiar places, passing seasons, and the people we continue to hold close in our hearts. Through poetry, prose, and a carefully curated gallery, Anamnesis reflects on the beauty of remembering and the comfort, ache, and warmth that often accompany it.
A special part of this issue, “Letters to Boss,” is dedicated to our beloved late Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kumar. Through personal letters and heartfelt recollections, this segment becomes a space of gratitude, remembrance, and love — honouring the impact he continues to leave on all those who knew him.
The English Literary Society is a place to explore for all those, students and educators alike, looking to seek and impart knowledge on a range of diversified subjects. As an eclectic society, we hold various events such as movie discussions, book club talks as well as workshops and lectures on various niches of the literary world.
